I have been involved in some form of training regime for many years due to my involvement in a number of sports.
About 15 years ago I stopped training as I was offered a management role which involved long working hours and I was just too tired to train. Slowly I put on weight and obviously lost condition.
I started my own business five years ago which again demanded a lot of time and effort so I even stopped walking for exercise which I had been doing twice a week.
Two years ago I approached Irene Malcolm who was working in the health industry and about to start her own business, Elite Bodies Personal Health and Fitness Services, telling her how tired I was and not getting the hours I wanted out of myself.
At the time I was 64 years of age, she convinced me I could improve my fitness with the correct training, taking into consideration my age, over weight and having not trained for many years.
I commenced training under her guidance, initially it was hard and I suffered a few minor muscle problems with some injuries due to feeling better and training by myself, pushing too hard.
I started listening to Irene’s advice more closely and am now able to say I feel very fit and healthy, I do not tire during the day and my mind is alert which is required in my profession.
Just as important is the way Irene trains me, the training is always different, she concentrates on my core fitness. My weight has dropped by 8kgs; I am stronger, more flexible and feel fantastic.
People have commented I look great for a 66 year old and I feel fantastic. I am able to stay in contact and match it with other people training that are 30 years my junior.
Thanks to Irene Malcolm, her knowledge of training regime’s and professional approach to the training of an “aged ex athlete” I have continued to work in a demanding profession which, at times, requires long hours of concentration and maintaining an alert mind.
I intend to work past 70 years of age and believe I can maintain standards due to my fitness which I owe to Irene’s fitness industry knowledge and dedication to her oldest student, thank you Irene.
